Atrocities in the Court of Red Dresses

Photographic images of the Ramapo-Munsee Lenape and Mexica Women captured by Jeremy Dennis of the Shinnecock Nation in Southampton Long Island, New York as part of the nationwide Red Dress Project raising awareness of Murdered, Missing, Indigenous Women and Girls. MMIW&G.

Atrocities in the Court of Red Dresses is inspired by the MMIW&G movement among Native American reservations and communities, as a way to raise awareness for the crisis of missing and murdered Indigenous women.

The origin of the ReDress Project originated in Canada and was introduced by Artist Jamie Black, Anishnabe, and Finnish as a way to resolve the social justice challenges facing Indigenous nations today.
